Ethiopian born 9-year-old girl lands in a role in the big box office hit 'Hidden Figures'

(EZ) Ethiopian born 9-year-old girl, Lidya Jewett, lands in a role in the big box office hit ‘Hidden Figures’.

A movie based on a true story about three African American women, who broke through racial and gender barriers, and who were the brain behind one of NASA’s biggest operation.

Lidya was born in Ethiopia and adopted by her American family who live in Palm City when she was four.

Lidya played the role of a young Katherine Johnson in ‘Hidden Figures’.

Katherine Johnson, 98, is an African American physicist and former NASA mathematician, who made contributions to the United States’ aeronautics and space programs with the early application of digital electronic computers at NASA.

Katherine Johnson received “Presidential Medal of Freedom” from former President Barack Obama on 24th November 2015.
